Snowshoeing

There's a walk up behind our house that I use a lot when Rusty the dog is visiting, or when we want to carry a coffee up to a viewpoint. The only time of year we haven't used it is in the snowy winter, because it's too steep and shrubby to use skis, and the snow is too deep to wade through.
So today, with our new snowshoes, we decided to try going up there. Breaking a path is tiring work but once the path is there you can go quickly. It was about 45 minutes going out and 10 minutes coming home!  Maybe tomorrow we'll go to the end of our path and continue onwards.
