Crow vs Squirrels

We had an outing to Harrogate this morning, walking from Harlow Carr to Valley Gardens and back. We stopped at the cafe in Valley Gardens for coffee and a sausage roll. They were very welcome on quite a chilly morning. At one point we stopped to watch a couple of squirrels and a crow trying to outwit each other for scraps of seed dropped by a great tit on a feeder in a tree! The crow really was not sure about the squirrels and every time they made a rush for the food it would jump out of the way! At this point it appeared to stop and stare at one of the squirrels! Added an extra of the three of them together!

On the way home we stopped at Sainsbury’s for lunch and shopping - and as we pulled into the drive at home there were twelve (12) red kites circling round overhead - an amazing sight. Sadly I only managed a couple of ‘silhouettes’ as there was no sunlight and just dark clouds.
