Tiny Tuesday

I'm really showing my ignorance here, as I'm not sure what this plant is or even whether these are seeds or buds! They're only about 2-3mm across and there's lots of them on dry-looking thin brown stems about a metre high along the side of a track. I'd taken my macro lens with me on my morning walk and decided to take a shot of them for Tiny Tuesday, although it wasn't easy - it was very dull, misty and drizzly and a fair breeze was blowing so they wouldn't stay still! In spite of being a close-up this is cropped to about 1/8th of the frame.
