Tamworth at Cambo

It was a beautiful afternoon for a walk at Cambo and it is always a delight to see the pigs - at the moment the 2 Tamworth sows have piglets and in the sunshine their red colour really stood out. They were obviously enjoying rooting about in the leaves and they do a good job controlling the ivy and the weeds. Thankfully they don’t harm the snowdrops that Cambo is so famous for. Like many of the really old breeds the Tamworth is now a rare breed in the UK with only a few hundred registered females.

It was sad to see that the recent storms have brought down some of the lovely old trees as they have done in large parts of the East of Scotland.
