Man Made

Two entries for today. The main pic is of the Bideford Long Bridge which spans the River Torridge, and is the longest Mediaeval bridge in England. In the distance is the 1987 Torridge A39 Road Bridge, which was built to relieve the pressure of traffic on the old bridge. .

The extra is of the The Pebble Ridge, which I believe was started back in 1861, to hold the sea back from the beach and dune area of Westward Ho! If you look up the history you will see that since then the sea continues its pressure on the ridge, and is currently advancing 1.5m a year.

Thank you for calling in and for your comments and rewards, so very much appreciated :-) x
