A day walking on Arran

The weather on Arran was not the best today but considering it is February we cannot complain. We had a mix of, rain, wind, sleet and hail and the occasional sunny interlude. By 4pm we had had enough and retreated to our hotel room to warm up and dry out.
Main pic was taken on our walk this morning in North Glen Sannox, a glacial valley carved by ice during the last ice age. The rocks found in North Glen Sannox are part of a group called the Highland Border Complex, these were formed on the floor of an ancient ocean that used to exist between Scotland and England.
The extra was taken on our walk this afternoon on Machrie Moor, a sacred landscape with six stone circles. The first, a wood circle built around 4,500 years ago when monuments like Stonehenge were being built, is no longer visible, but the stone circles standing today were erected around 500 years later.
