Leaving Lochranza

By the time we went to bed last night the first Brodick to Ardrossan service for this morning had been cancelled due to bad weather and during breakfast this morning we heard that the 11.05, which we were booked on, had been cancelled due to a positive case of covid onboard. The service was due to resume with the 16.40 but rather than take the risk of having to stay another night on Arran with no accommodation booked we decided to head to Lochranza where the MV Catriona was running a shuttle service to Claonaig on the Kintyre Peninsula, a short crossing but a much longer drive home. The crossing was good, a bit breezy, you can see no one else was on deck! Lovely drive home with views of the snow capped mountains with a stop in Inveraray for lunch. We had only been away for two nights but packed a lot in, feels like we have been away for ages!
