The Virgin Mary

It's been a busy season for the Virgin Mary but today the characters from the Nativity Scene were restored to their bubble wrap and box in readiness for storage.

All except Mary, who has spent the entire Christmas and Epiphany standing on one foot, her right foot having been, with an anonymous chip, carefully kept in a plastic bag until she was free for the surgery.

So here she is after the operation, with her foot in plaster araldite taking a well-earned rest, cushioned among the beanbags. Tomorrow, if all goes well, she'll be discharged into the tender care of Joseph, Baby Jesus, the three kings and animals in their shredded-paper home in the attic until next Christmas.

I still haven't identified the owner of the other chip as no-one seems to be missing anything so that will accompany them all in the box and perhaps during the months to follow they can decide between themselves who'd like it. I'll have the araldite ready.

Edit: I have reloaded the photo to achieve a better thumbnail, which was not possible when loading from the phone.
