A Day In The Life

New Addition

While shopping for seeds yesterday I spotted this cute frog planter just waiting to be noticed. MrsP agreed it needed to come home with us. It’s a perfect size for holding seeds and songbirds. Soon after being placed outdoors I was convinced a chickadee would be the first visitor, but, no, it was a nuthatch. This tufted titmouse was the second. I’m sure Fred will become more popular as time goes by • Standing room only around the deer table last night. We counted eight deer eating up the spread of seeds, carrots, lettuce and apples. There could have been more around the cherry tree but it was too dark to know. Despite this week’s warming temperatures there’s still plenty of snow on the ground to inhibit their movement from one place to another and with little food available this time of year it isn’t a surprise the herd is growing. I’ve read we should only supplement their diet and only do so in the winter when snow is on the ground • If the sun appears we could reach 50F this afternoon!! We’re going to revel in it since winter returns tomorrow :)
