For old times' sake

we stopped in Eymet with its arcades and half-timbered buildings, where LoJ and I spent a holiday the first time we left our then-teenaged children on their own....can it really have been so long ago?....and have visited several times since in passing, then northwards through the Cognac vineyards sweeping down gentle slopes, so unlike the vineyards at home in the south, past hundreds more cowslips, more than I've seen in my life previously, lining the roads, through storms, rain, hail and one flash of lightning as well as bright sunshine, and monochrome villages, all grey stone and grey shutters, where no one seems to go outside much, to another old favourite, the Hotel Corneille that we discovered by chance about 15 years ago and found such a welcome and such wonderful food that we've been back many times, although the most recent was 6 years ago. Just going to dinner now and expecting a feast! Tomorrow - somewhere new to us.
