Goodbye inkjet cartridges

The new printer has arrived, and is now installed on a couple of computers. I have printed a couple of documents, though not any photos yet (the big Canon with pigment inks, lots of them, will be kept for large photos). The results are good so far, though these are early days. I'm hoping it will not suffer from the con tin cal ink blockages of the Epson, and will also be cheaper to run as the ink comes in these quite large bottles (125mm high), which is then emptied into reservoirs in the printer itself.

Three minor drawbacks I have noted:
1. It is larger than the old Epson, which causes a problem as there isn't room for it on the desk where it used to be, alongside a Surface and a large keyboard.
2. The information display is tiny, monochrome, unlit and only 2 lines of text.
3. There is no built-in double-sided printing facility, instead the driver issues instructions on inverting the paper and reloading it.

None of these are major, and it is the better printing and lower cost that persuaded me to buy it when the relatively young Epson died.
