Belfast in Badajoz

On a whim, invited Mike to go to Badajoz, in Spain, for the afternoon.

Wanted to see the film, Belfast, and it's not on in Évora anymore. Disadvantage of living where we do - at least an hour's drive to get to a cinema. We actually had an exclusive viewing, the only ones in quite a large cinema room. Beautiful photography, mostly black and white, and gorgeous lighting. Reviews criticise it for not tackling "the Troubles" better, but that's not what it's about, though it's the context. Enough, however, to wonder again, what causes such hate and violence?? Anyway, it's more about the agonies of leaving a close-knit community, both for those who leave and for those who stay. And about a loving, though not perfect, family. Could identify with those last two subjects.

Gratefuls:
- lunch in Plaza Alta, mostly built in Moorish times (my Blip)
- Mike being willing to leave the tax returns and go with me
- Spanish vibe being so different to the Portuguese one
