French Institute - Parliament Square

We scurried through the torrential downpour to the French Institute.  We were there to see their Wednesday afternoon movie, Le Quai D'Orsay (The French Minister).  The Institute is housed in this fabulous building which was Mid Lothian Council's Chambers until 2017.

The original building was designed by Archibald Elliot and built between 1816 and 1819.  However that building was razed and the current one was rebuilt by James McIntyre Henry between 1899 and 1904.

The film was a comedy and cheered us up on a dismal day.  More scurrying home although this time battling the wind!
