Snowdrops and ... conkers!

A quick walk today, just to go and post a couple of items in a local post box which has a wide mouth for larger letters. There is a small patch of grass near the post box which was covered in a swathe of snowdrops, so I bent down with my iPhone to take a photo. At that point I noticed a conker nestled in the dead leaves, but when I got home and looked at the photo on my Mac I saw that there were actually two of them. Don't they look shiny still, considering it's mid February?
