Welford Park snowdrops

Today we visited Welford Park, near Newbury, with friends. The River Lambourn flows through  the estate,  and at this  time  of year the beech woodland is carpeted with thousands of snowdrops. It really was magical, especially  when the  sun came out.
There were Galanthus cultivars on sale but I managed to resist buying any this time, as some were over £100 for a small pot!
There were a lot of visitors, and a long queue for  food, so we headed off to a garden centre  in Hungerford for lunch and chat with our four friends.
Glad we made it today as Welford will be closed  tomorrow due to the threat from incoming Storm Eunice
