IT'S FFFFFRRRRREEEEEZING ON SILLY SATURDAY

Hello Lovely Blippers,

You will be pleased to know that Penny Penguin and Leyburn had three negative tests this week, so they are back with us again.  We did miss them, but they had a good time together playing quite happily in the spare bedroom.

We were hoping to go outside to play some games today, but it is still quite windy so we decided that perhaps we had better do something indoors.  We did think about getting out the bagatelle board, but then we heard Mrs. HCB say that the freezer needed defrosting so we thought we could help with that job - and you know how helpful we all are.  You can see by the ice above some of us that it was definitely overdue for a defrost!  Of course, Penny Penguin was in her element and decided that the top shelf was the place she wanted to be.

I wonder if you can see our new little friend?  Between Sid and Penny is a dear little goat called Godfrey, the Gourmet Goat.  You will remember that Mr. and Mrs. HCB went to the Gourmet Goat Coffee Shop earlier in the week, and because Godfrey looked so forlorn Mrs. HCB asked him what was wrong.  He said that the other goats made fun of him because one of his horns was at a bit of an angle, so she said she would be happy to take him home with her.  She explained that she had lots of different friends in her Silly Saturday Gang and they certainly wouldn’t poke fun at him because not only was it unkind, but it was unnecessary, and anyway, perhaps in time his wonky horn would grow straight, and if not, then he should enjoy being different.

When Godfrey arrived, we all made him very welcome and told him all about Admirer and the HCBs - we said that Mr. HCB loved pottering in the garden, so if he wanted to help with eating the grass, then he would be most welcome.   We also told him about Mrs. HCB’s chocolate addiction, but he said he wasn’t that keen on chocolate, so she had nothing to fear from him.

Mrs. HCB has some special spray she puts on to hurry up the defrosting, but before she did that, we all jumped into the freezer and asked her if she would take a photograph of us.  She decided that Leyburn, Reeth, Tiny and Snowy - who was also happy to be in the freezer - needed to be sitting on some boxes, but we had to watch Reeth, as he rather likes Mrs. HCB’s carrot and ginger cake.  We told him that the two pieces that were left in the box were for Mrs. HCB and her Blip friend, Heidi, who visits sometimes, so he must NOT, under any circumstances, nibble any of it.  He promised he would be good, but we didn’t stay too long because it would be too tempting.

We hope you all stayed safe and that Storm Eunice didn’t do too much damage where you live.  Mr. and Mrs. HCB were safe and sensible and stayed indoors all day yesterday, but Mr. HCB is pottering in the garden today and doing odd little jobs.  They are hoping to see their son, Martyn, a bit later, so are excited about that - I wonder if he will bring any chocolate for Mrs. HCB?

Well, it’s time to go and get the hairdryer and see if we can dislodge any more ice from the freezer, so we will say Goodbye to you all.  Stay warm, cosy and safe.

Until next week, love from

JH Ted, Tiny, Snowy, Penny Penguin, Leyburn, Reeth, CC, LBB, Titch, Maurice, Sid and Godfrey - aka The Silly Saturday Gang xxx
