Hung out …

….. ….. to dry

I joined in with a small group of people at church this morning, appreciating a meaningful time of worship music & singing & teaching.
Afterwards several of us met for coffee under a café umbrella outside, talking. So relaxed & peaceful. One of the women is from Hongkong and was telling us of prison conditions there, for protestors still being held in captivity. I shuddered and am thankful we don’t live with a situation like that.

Our daily Omicron rates have increased markedly today, now at 2,500. It seems as though the actual figure could be higher.
Needing to self isolate has become a huge issue in Queenstown, with hospitality staff not able to work, and businesses going bankrupt. RAT tests are impossible to access in that industry, with the Govt having requisitioned supplies. Queenstown is a ghost town.

Thousands have joined the protest in Wellington at Parliament grounds with many prominent people now joining in. If the protestors hadn’t been such a disparate group I think it could have been resolved sooner, but apparently some useful negotiations have been held between them and police. It’s very tense for many. The Govt as usual are dragging their collective feet.

The photo was taken after my daughter & Missy & I walked up the track above Whitechapel Rd, the most walking I’ve done for weeks. Great!
