Twinkly snow, soft contours, an interesting track

The day started with a leisurely breakfast, shared with Claire and Rusty, who were staying over in the Red House. When Claire left Rusty (extra) was very reluctant to get into the car - he preferred fun in the snow. (Though he needn't have worried because after a 10 minute drive he'd be seeing Claire's son and grandchildren, including Rusty's favourite children - plenty of excitement for Rusty!)
Today's picture was taken as Jan and I walked along the road. New snow and warm(ish) sun produce a beautiful and soft world. We feel so lucky to live in such a lovely place.
Once home Jan went to do some bookbinding prep while I took another trip on snowshoes. I extended "our" path by about 700 m, along a slight ridge to a high point with a small copse of pines. The extra is taken looking back from those trees. My tracks follow the ridge and slightly to the left are some elk (moose) tracks.
A few other photos of this glorious sunny birthday weekend can be found on flickr.
