Day 6: underpaid since 2009

Monday, back on the picket line of the UCU strike for our pensions and our working conditions. This week is the Festival of Creative Learning, ie not many people show up in our buildings. We decided to move our Drummond St picket line to the Old College which is much more visible and happens to be in the sunshine. Discussing tactics and eating cakes for our bake-off (see extra for my contribution). Before Christmas I looked into my pay and how it developed over the last decade. Between 2009 and 2018 I essentially lost about 8% of my income to inflation. It all seems a bit endless.
