First Cardinal...

...I've seen all winter. The schools were closed today in anticipation of the ice storm, which was probably a good thing. Our area got a thin coating of ice, which, while slippery, wasn't nearly as bad as some areas. I'd brought the bag of salt into the sunporch last night, so I just opened the door, threw out some salt and then stepped onto it....threw some more and took another step....all the way out to the front sidewalk and threw lots of salt there too, so that no one would slip and fall. Outside of that, I haven't left the house all day. :)
