Fern frond

A fairly grey start to the day but by the afternoon the sun was occasionally peaking through so I headed out to Bystock Pools for a walk with my husband.  The place was looking fairly windswept not surprisingly and a few trees were leaning.  There are some signs of new seasons growth but its still large areas of brown dried ferns, pale clumps of grass and green leaves on the evergreen trees.  Todays blip shows the fine detail in the underside of a small fern frond and the extra is a heather plant with its seed heads and some new growth coming through.
