A Palindromic Sort of Day

The day began with freezing temperatures clear skies and not a lot of interest in going out in the cold.

Our friend Bob called and wanted to meet for coffee so that got us moving and out the door after all.

After coffee we took Spike for his walk and met our former Pilates teacher and her little boy. She was pregnant with him and teaching on Zoom when we last saw her. We talked about how much we all missed our in person Pilates mat class.

A little further up the trail we met a nice couple who were interested in Spike. We had to tell him his story when he crashed into their legs coming to greet them. We told them that Spike was from Ireland and that it sounded like he was too.I told him it sounded like he was also from Ireland and he allowed as how he was.

Spike sat like a good dog patiently waiting for us to stop talking and continue his walk.

By the time we got home, it was lunchtime. My closet clearing project was looking less likely.

By mid afternoon, the thunderheads rising above the mountains had gathered, turned dark and it began to rain...wait, is that snow? No just rain, no, it's hail with snow on all the foothills....

I took today's picture through the same window as yesterday's extra. The rain/hail didn't last very long and the sky is clearing before the sun goes down. It continues to be freezing. I don't think the temperatures got out of the 40's today....

I didn't get any further on the closet but our Nespresso order came containing, along with coffee, a descaling kit. I was ready to do it last week before I realized we didn't have any of the special solution. I ran it through the machine today, a somewhat lengthy process, and  discovered another descaling kit in the drawer hidden under the sleeves of decaf.

Biden announced severe sanctions against Russia today, saying that Russia has invaded Ukraine today. He has managed to keep the allies unanimously united but continues to insist that the sanctions are only the beginning of the sanctions. He has been transparent in his handling of this treacherous situation and insists that he doesn't intend to put US troops in Ukraine. I can only be grateful that the former president, no matter what he claims, is no longer in charge of the situation....

Maybe I'll get back to the closet tomorrow...
