Too late

We travelled to York this morning to visit Matt and take him a bike. After reading the flood warnings for York last night, I had convinced myself that going was a mistake but the owner of the guest house assured me that we would be ok. The journey up was wet up until we got to the moors and then the sun shone. It was almost like 2 different weather systems. We were diverted by Chirk due to the winds as both of the high bridges were closed so the journey took about 4 hours. After we had dropped the bike with Matt and had checked into the guesthouse, we walked into the city. The river was rising and some people had lost their cars in the floodwaters.
We had a walk around York and then met Matt for a meal and a catch up. It was a lovely day but we were shattered when we got back. The flooding in York was really bad but it seemed that we had left worst flooding behind in Shrewsbury.
