Edinburgh arrival

After a busy weekend in Cardiff, we were grateful that our train to Edinburgh was at 9.54 so we didn't have to get up at silly o'clock. Dad kindly dropped us at the station so our adventure could begin. The journey up was smooth and took just a little over 4 hours due to a 40 minute change at Crewe. We were really impressed with the train from Crewe and there were plenty of seats to choose from. On arrival in Edinburgh, we found our bearings and walked to our hotel: Ten Hill Place (highly recommended). Once in our room, we unpacked and had a cuppa before heading out to explore and get our bearings. We walked past the university, taking a few photos of the stunning buildings, and found the museum. This was free and a fantastic place to visit. Inside it reminded me of The Natural History Museum in London. We stayed here until they closed and then found the Royal Mile and looked for somewhere to eat. We were both shattered so a quick pizza in Bella Italia was followed by a trip back to the hotel. Chris zonked out virtually as soon as he lay on the bed. I wasn't surprised as the driving the day before was exhausting.  I did a bit of research for the following day and had an early night too.
