Those Perfect Moments. So Many, We Shared

On This Day In History
2015: Leonard Nimoy dies

Quote Of The Day
"A life is like a garden. Perfect moments can be had, but not preserved, except in memory."
(Leonard Nimoy)

In these illogical times, how I wish we could have more people like Mr. Spock on this planet. But, as Mr. Spock himself said, "Logic is the beginning of wisdom, not the end of it."

Leonard Nimoy was a man of deep thought, not unlike his famous alter-ego. He was also a man of deep feeling. This poem he wrote speaks to our time.

I AM CONVINCED

I am convinced
That if all mankind
Could only gather together
In one circle
Arms on each other's shoulders
And dance, laugh and cry
together
Then much
of the tension and burden
of life
Would fall away
In the knowledge that
We are all children
Needing and wanting
Each other's
Comfort and
Understanding
We are all children
Searching for love.
― Leonard Nimoy, We Are All Children Searching for Love

I was delighted to find this reading of Max Ehrmann's Desiderata read by Leonard Nimoy. This is one of my favourite poems and the closest thing I would regard as a personal credo.

Finally, here is a beautiful song from Oliver that also speaks strongly to our time. Where Is Love? Where, indeed?

I am ever grateful for the all those perfect moments digitally preserved to be relived time and time again.

Thank you, Leonard.
