Poseurs

But being ignored by passers-by.  This one of thirty shops empty in Sherborne, according to our new acquaintance (in House of Lamps) and he has refused to sign another ten-year lease at the price of £50,000 a year, all told.  But his landlord can get no one else to take over the shop so our hero remains in situ with the luxury of two months' notice if the landlord wants to move in another tenant.

It reminds us of Cambridge, where shops were quite frequently priced out of the city centre by either the University or the City Council, rents or rates respectively.
