Rebecca

I've had such a neat day, exhausting but such fun.  Last year, or perhaps the year before this lovely, generous and fun loving woman allowed us to photograph her.
Today we went into this very old and beautiful home to photograph her in the 1940's period theme. The house has just been sold, there wasn't any furniture except this tea wagon.  Didn't matter an ounce. All the photos are taken using natural light from windows.  Had to up the ISO, and I've edited these at night, so come morning I'll probably look at them and find they are too dark.  I rarely edit at night for that very reason.
Anyhoo.....you will see we had fun from the extras, and there are many other dresses, feathers in hair, ostrich feathers, beads, fox fur etc etc, but this selection will do for tonight.
I was very lucky to be invited and enjoyed myself immensely.

Covid - over 22,000 known cases today

I wouldn't be surprised if NZ protests on parliament grounds have made world news today - what an absolute disgrace to see these people resisting police in full riot gear, throwing sponge missiles and bricks left right and centre, starting fires, abusing one and all.  Three police in hospital, last heard there have been multiple arrests....makes me ashamed and sad to see this going on in our country.  These protestors have been there for 23 days - it started off as a peaceful anti-mandate protest, but grew and grew with people having different agendas.  Filthy conditions, children among them...it became tent city.  Ella my Granddaughter is a 4th year student at Wellington Girls College which is close to parliament and because of the protests the school closed over a week ago because of the abuse given to students as they walked to or from school. Spat on, assaulted, jeered at for wearing masks.  Hideous.
Tonight the firemen are there controlling the fires, and spraying the protesters with water.  I've never seen the like here in NZ, full riot gear - something seen overseas.  Sad day indeed.  Jacinda finally had something to say, she was so angry and sad as most of New Zealanders are.
And then, the floods in Australia are heartbreaking, and Ukraine continues to reduce me to tears
