Sunlit fence line

Following on from yesterday, I decided to do the same walk again. We had had yet another hard frost overnight. I had spoken to a friend in the allotment society yesterday and he said he had recorded a temperature of -7 INSIDE his polly tunnel. When is this unremmiting cold going to relent. There were no birds this particular morning. That may have been due to a slight easterly breeze which gave the cold a wind chill factor as well. As I got to the bottom of the path near the Alton Burn the leaden grey sky began to show signs of light. A weak sun started to peep through, illuminating the frost on the twisted and well bent top wire of this dilapidated fence.
