Indie's first day out in the garden

Helena has been home all day today, so when the rain stopped we carried out our plan for our new four year old cat called Indie. We’ve had her since January 9th, but haven’t wanted to let her out after her worrying ‘disappearing trick’ within twelve hours of her arrival. We’ve now re-registered her chip details so that we are now her official owners and today we needed to set up the cat flap so that it recognised her chip’s wireless signal.

We reprogrammed the cat flap and then let her out, following her closely. She was understandably quite nervous as she sniffed everything while exploring the boundaries  of the front garden, the road’s footpath and our neighbours' gardens on both sides of our house. She is very flighty and bouncy, when she runs, and has a tendency to climb to the top of any structure. Today I thought she was quite restrained and did retrace her steps to return to see us every few minutes. But I fear I’ll be rather nervous about her exploits outside for some time, as she is quite a loveable trickster!

I like this rather blurred blip of her as she raced across our patio in the back garden. Helena saids she looks as if she is in a horse race! The other extras were all taken as she roamed about.
