The Edge of the Wold

I went for a walk up the Knott this afternoon to see how the conservation team are getting on.  Here's one of them demonstrating a liking for pine needles, perhaps not as surprising as watching them eating supposedly poisonous yew leaves which they seem to do with impunity.  It looks like she's already browsed everything in reach, and is now wishing she had a prehensile tongue.  The extra is a close-up of the same cow looking down on humanity, and quite right too.

The cow stretching up as far as it could did put me in mind of Lamarck’s pre-Darwin theory of evolution.
