If you can't beat them...

Trent and Mersey Canal

After a good run down the motorway, we arrived at the marina in the early afternoon.  Then it was "all hands on deck" to get the Land Rover unloaded and the food and gear on board.  This was followed as you might expect by a "cuppa".

Soon we were on our way. Then through Colwich Lock the first of the surprisingly few locks on this trip. The route has been chosen for us by the Canal and River Trust, not literally but they still have winter maintenance stoppages on all the other routes we might have wanted to take.

Having had such a busy day, loading the Land Rover, driving then unloading we moored fairly early.  We found a spot that "ticked all our boxes".  Far from the madding crowd, sheltered, sun streaming through the vegetation, etc.  The blip is Clickychick having a few minutes sitting in the remaining sun on the well deck of Solace.
