Purple Crocus

I may be wrong but I have been told these modern large flowered Crocuses are hybrids.   Certainly, all the species Croci I am familiar with are smaller and less robust.  This one has appeared in the last few days in one of the pots on the patio.

The usual visit to Kanyl and "The Mate" staying over ready for an early start heading south tomorrow.
