Chestnut Farm

B, H and I went along to Chestnut Farm at West Beckham today.  They were holding an 'Open Gardens' event in aid of St. John Ambulance.  It's a three acre garden that has been nurtured for over 50 years by the owners.  They have collected 90 different types of snowdrops, but this pretty garden also displays aconites, crocuses and hellebores among many other plants.  I find photographing hellebores much easier than snowdrops so I have featured one here and a mono version of it as an extra.
Of course, there was also a tearoom with an excellent selection of cakes as well as some savoury items too, although sitting out was a tad chilly but the hot cup or tea helped to keep us warm.

St. John Ambulance assisted with the Covid vaccination programme and ambulance drivers, crews and paramedics have also helped the East of England Ambulance Service.   All in addition to their other duties helping out at public events.  They certainly deserve our support.
