Beautiful but very chilly

Another lovely day with sunshine and azure blue sky. The temperature dropped below zero last night and there was quite a heavy frost.

Car windows cleared and I set of for church just before nine. I planned to have a walk in Queens Park before our service.
The large pond was ice free but one end of the small pond was covered with a thin layer of ice.

I'm not sure how the female mallard got herself into the small area that was ice free ..... her weight would have broken the surface of the ice so I'm guessing that she flew and made a perfect landing.
