Bit of culture

Not such a productive day off today but did have a bit of a lie in which was nice.

Headed off to the Hepworth Gallery after lunch to see what was going on. Charlotte loves the hands on workshops they do for holidays and weekends - this one was rather loud, making sculptures out of metal which involved lots of hammering! We had a wander round the gallery, she sketched a cockerel and then we attempted to replicate it in bits of metal and wire - oh and a few pipe cleaners!!

Then managed another walk about to get some photos, and we spotted Patrick the Heron on the river.

It had just started to rain when we went out but she was adamant we had to visit the play area, where we bumped into a little boy she used to go to nursery with. We persisted until the rain got too heavy, and as we were walking back towards the gallery and the exit we saw Bill Turnbull doing some filming - if it ever appears on tv and you see a drowned rat walking past that could be me!!

Can only assume it was because the Hepworth has been nominated for Museum of the Year.
