Forker's Gill

A nice cycle along to Hobbister and Waulkmill Bay on a sunny and windless day. I like this saltmarsh for the jigsaw-like shapes. I looked up the place-name - 'gill' is from Old Norse for steep-sided valley and is found in loads of place-names around the UK. 'Forker' seems to just mean an agricultural worker with a fork. The usual birds- ravens, redshanks, mallard, heron, great and red-throated diver.
