A Day Worth Recording

Sound and Flight

Last day of our mini-break.

Worshipped with the local Meeting and wandered back into the city, accidently finding the Bishop's palace ruins. Interesting use of roof tiles to 'mark' where the stonework is missing.

Winchester cathedral with Gormley's Sound II in the crypt. Coffee at the mill again, then back to the car with a decent walk in mind on the way home.

Stopping at one NT property (closed) for what was tabled as a panoramic view walk.  I fear we may now be spoilt as far as 'panoramic views' go, so we meandered onwards towards Uffington and it's white horse - another location not visited before.

OK, so White Horse essentially visible only by gods and pilots, but a bit of a walk up to the adjoining 'castle' (iron age fort, bit spoilt with those at home too) and I got a bit distracted by a pair of kites not quite getting in range.

Thence home.  A good break.
