Roadworks As Meditation

This happens a lot here.

A group of workers will turn up out of nowhere and will watch one man in a digger dig a hole  They'll put the barriers around it.  And then they'll bugger off.

I haven't read the manual but I expect that it says that they have to disappear for at least 3 weeks in order to consider all the holistic aspects of the hole.  The whole of the hole - if you will.
