?Ugly Duckling

A walk round Killingworth Lake is one of our local favourites but we've not been on that route for a few weeks. This morning there wasn't a lot going on with regard to the waterbirds but it was good to see that last year's cygnets seem to be doing well. They still have their lilac beaks (as opposed to the orange beaks of the adults) and some of their brown feathers - or maybe their Mum's are using the wrong washing powder...?!
