Strangers in a Strange Land

Liverpool Art Prize winner, Robyn Woolston, has taken over the 1st floor of the Walker Art Gallery with 9 bales of discarded plastic with a combined weight of more than 3.5 tonnes. It's a pretty obvious comment on waste and recycling (these bales will go to be recycled when the piece finishes in June) but no less effective for that - it's an uncompromising piece because of its setting, in the middle of aesthetically more pleasing art.

We're off to see more weirdness at the Bluecoat tomorrow. Flotsam might recognise one of the participants.
