Villa Braganza

This morning there was a blue plaque unveiling  by the Torbay Civic Society. This was the first  plaque since lockdown, but the second time for this house. The first one disappeared. The plaque was put on the entrance to the former home of Sir Charles Dashwood. This is a magnificent Torquay villa, built in 1823. See extra. Sir Charles was a former naval officer, appointed Vice Admiral in 1841. From his  villa he could see the fleet in Torbay. We had a a lovely morning there, thanks to the wonderful owners, then met some friends for lunch, before returning to our own modest mansion. From there if we stand on a stepladder in the bathroom we can also review the fleet.
