Lindisfarne Castle

Today we went to Holy Island - despite the ‘level crossing gods’ being against us (held up twice for a total off 20 minutes….4 trains passed at the first and 2 more at the second)….and then fighting with mobile phone and credit cards to pay for parking on the island…two cards were rejected and I then had to pay by phone through a website…which accepted one of the cards that was rejected by the machine….

Suitably fortified with coffee and toasted tea cake we set off walking - a circumnavigation of the island (about 6 miles), stopping for photo opportunities!

A beautiful day, not too much sun and not too much wind. We ended with a quick wander around the village and boosted ourselves with tea and cake to finish!

Drove back via Bamburgh and stopped in Seahouses for a little wander along the harbour and for a fish and chip tea.
