A Splash Of Colour

Today we went to Howick Hall Gardens/Arboretum, just a few miles away, but the weather was in complete contrast to yesterday’s glorious sunshine.

It started to rain soon after we arrived but, having paid our (not insubstantial) entrance fee, we weren’t going to leave! We were pretty well waterproofed, but it wasn’t a particularly pleasant walk, and the map that they gave us soon fell into soggy pieces and we basically followed our noses!

I did like this rather (wet) colourful tree, which stood out nicely against the dark background. There were loads of daffodils, and still some snowdrops about. I have added an extra view of the hall.

The trees had suffered a lot of casualties in the recent storms, see one in 2nd extra :-(

This would appear to be my 3000th blip - not sure how I got here - not a day missed in over 8 years, although I came close a couple of weeks ago when it got posted to the wrong day!
