New growth

This morning started sunny and was forecast to be a sunny day but unfortunately it became overcast and misty with the sun trying to break through but not managing it.  A bit of shopping and a fill up with petrol of the car this morning.  Certainly the highest price we have paid and it looks unlikely to come down for the moment but given the circumstances you can't complain.

This afternoon was the bookclub meeting and everyone was present which was nice.  We had a good discussion of the current book - A thousand moons by Sebastian Barry.  It is a sequel to his previous book Days Without End which we had all enjoyed and we thought it would be interesting to read this one.  Many of us initially felt it wasn't quite as good but in retrospect and in some cases a second reading found more depth in it.   He is certainly an excellent writer.

Todays blip is of the tiny buds on the Japanese Maple bush that are beginning to open.
