Tybee lighthouse

One of the reasons for this adventure was to take Mrs Nell who is 80 to see the lighthouses along the South Carolina coast. So we were talking yesterday and she wanted to know about lighthouses in Georgia. I told her about Tybee Island light and since we were only an hour and a half away we went there. It is near Savannah. She loved all the history about the lighthouse keepers and the old furniture etc in the keepers house. She wasn’t able to climb to the top of the lighthouse but I made it up all 178 steps.


In the last three days we saw Sullivan’s Island light, Harbortown Lighthouse, Hunting Island lighthouse and Morris Island lighthouse which sits out in the harbor near Folly Beach.

Home again now. Almost 700 hundred miles driven.
