The Lozarithm Lens

Chippenham (Tuesday 15th March 2022)

Back to Chippenham to finish running what errands I hadn't managed on Saturday, but this time making use of my bus pass for the first time since before the first lockdown. This went well apart from a long wait at the start of the journey, having to wait over 40 minutes for buses that are supposed to run every 20 (and I had not just missed one). I was luckier on the return run.

The town centre was far less busy than it had been on Saturday, but at the town bridge there were no swans to be seen, perhaps because there were fewer people to feed them. There were three Canada geese being fed when I arrived but they soon drifted further along the Avon, occasionally visible through the shrubs and trees at the river's edge where I eventually got my shots.

Lozarhythm Of The Day:
Unloved - Strange Effect (2022)
The final series of Killing Eve is currently being broadcast on the BBC iPlayer and later on BBC1, and this is from the third episode, viewed on this evening. The soundtrack is being overseen by the record producer David Holmes and a large proportion of it is by his own group, Unloved. Strange Effect is of course a version of Dave Berry's sixties hit This Strange Effect. This was written for him by Ray Davies of the Kinks, who never recorded the song although they did perform it on a session for Brian Matthew's Saturday Club (BBC Light Programme) at the time.
