The Lozarithm Lens

Wootton Bassett (Monday 15th March 2021)

Having crossed town for my annual diabetic review at the surgery (actually the first in two years) and found to be still alive, I continued to my local disused canal. I am a member of the Wilts And Berks Canal Trust and this was my first visit since last June. I parked at Templars Firs and found this swan at the start of the canal. There wasn't a lot of wildlife around, not even ducks (I heard a moorhen) but I did see a robin, a dunnock and many magpies and crows. I walked up to the second footbridge and back and took over fifty pictures on three different cameras. Bearing in mind that Beckett's Mono Monday theme is Birds In Mono I indulged in even more swan photography than normal. The one I chose to convert to mono was taken on my return walk using my Panasonic LX100. This cob swan was very conversational and seemed happy to pose despite not being proffered any food.

Mono Monday hosted this week by Beckett, who didn't see it.
