Splendid Isolation

With the golf course closed but the weather beautiful, Tess & I were up early and headed to Burnham for a walk along the beach, punctuated by breakfast at Wetherspoon’s.

The lighthouse end of the beach was quite busy with dog walkers and a school party on a field trip, but this chap was enjoying the clouds and the view of the Quantock Hills across the bay in splendid isolation. We’d seen him digging for bait on our way out to the lighthouse but, despite having his rod rest set up, he didn’t seem to be doing any fishing.

Having got 14000 steps in, we had a quiet afternoon.
