The First Cut

Is certainly not the deepest when using a bow saw. This particular has to be at least 20 years old, however the blade remains sharp and I can work with it quite happily.

Spring in the garden is calling and the need to start cutting up fallen timber and other related chores is now imminent.

I am cutting up the fallen lilac tree/bush. The timber is good with a fine dense heart wood. If I was a wood carver, which I am not, it would be good to work with.
