Coming Home

We left our holiday rental at around 10 this morning and drove down the coast to Amble where we had a wander around the harbour in the sunshine!! Some fishing boats were coming back into the harbour and I caught this one leaving a great patterned wake behind on the calm sea. I like that is is reflected in the smooth water ahead! We managed to find a small cafe where we had a coffee and cake - before setting off back home. I have also added an extra of some rather bright beach huts (available to rent by the day) which are right next to the harbour!

A journey of around 2.5 hours back to Yorkshire - traffic mostly running OK, but there are miles and miles and miles of roadworks and/or 50 mph speed limits around Newcastle, Durham and Darlington which caused us to slow right down in places. At least it didn’t pour down like it did last time we made this journey! We got caught again by a level crossing not long after we set off - three trains passing this time. We were waiting so long that the car ‘stop/start’ system got bored restarted the engine by itself!

I managed to keep up with your blip journals whilst away (despite the flaky router in the cottage which kept stopping and starting and as there was no phone signal there there was no alternative). Just got a pile of photos to sort through and catalogue now!
